Clauses (6)
Groups of circuits in underground wiring enclosures
The cable size tool names this clause on a group of circuits in underground enclosures. The clause names Tables 26(1) and 26(2), which the tool reads for one cable per duct. For a duct that holds the whole circuit, Table 3(4) sends circuits that share one enclosure to Table 22. There the tool takes the lower of the Table 26(2) and Table 22 factors and names the table it read.
Tools that read it:
Third harmonic current in the neutral
The cable size tool reads this clause once you enter a third harmonic percentage on a three-phase circuit. It prints the neutral current the harmonic produces, applies the Table 2 reduction factor, and names the clause beside the step so you can check the sizing basis the clause sets. The correction factors tool does the same.
Tools that read it:
Voltage drop method
The voltage drop and voltage rise tools use this method. Resistance and reactance are combined at the power factor to give millivolts per amp metre. That figure is then multiplied by the current and the route length.
Tools that read it:
Voltage drop with an unbalanced load
The voltage drop tool switches to Equation 4.6 of this clause once you enter a neutral current on a three-phase circuit. It then works on a single-conductor basis and prints the neutral drop as its own step, each conductor over its own length.
Tools that read it:
Short-circuit performance
The fault rating tool works to this clause. It compares the energy let through by the protective device with the energy the conductor can take. The check uses the fault current, the clearing time and the k factor.
Tools that read it:
Short-circuit duration
The fault rating tool names this clause when the clearing time you enter is longer than the 5 s the clause covers. The result still prints, with a warning that the cited basis stops at 5 s.
