Deleting your account or data

This part tells you how to delete your AmpSize account, and how to delete some of your data and keep the account. It applies to the website and to the AmpSize app.

To delete your account

You can delete your AmpSize account yourself, on the website.

  1. If you want a copy of your data, use Download my data on your account page first.
  2. If you pay for Pro, cancel it on your Lemon Squeezy billing page. Your account page links to it. You can delete the account after the paid period ends, so you are not charged again.
  3. If you own a team, delete the team on your team page after its subscription ends. Its projects then come back to you as personal projects.
  4. Sign in, open ampsize.nz/account/delete, type your email address or DELETE, and choose Delete my account. The account goes at once. You are signed out on every device and in the app, and we mail you a confirmation.

If you cannot sign in, email [email protected] from the address you sign in with, and ask us to delete your AmpSize account. Mail from that address shows us the account is yours.

What deleting the account removes

We delete your sign-in, your sessions on every device and your profile. We delete your saved calculations and your projects, with their plans, boards, circuits, test sheets, site photos and notes. We delete your certificates, your saved clients, your branding, your saved signature, your support tickets and your subscription record. We delete your share links, with their view counts and the names people left on them.

What we keep after an account is deleted

  • Work in a team project stays with the team. Your calculations in team projects pass to the team owner. Your site photos and notes stay in the team project without your name. Certificates issued for the team stay with the team.
  • We keep a record that the account was deleted: a scrambled form of its email address, the date, and how many saves, projects and support tickets it had. This record has no end date. It lets us show what we deleted and when.
  • Our database backups hold deleted data for up to 7 days. Deleted photos, drawings and signatures can be restored by us for up to 7 days. After that they are gone.
  • Lemon Squeezy keeps its own records of your payments, under its own privacy policy. We cannot delete them.
  • Page counts and feedback do not record who you are, so they are not part of your account. They stay as this page describes below.

To delete some data and keep the account

  • A saved calculation: open Saved and choose Delete. Its share links and their counts go with it.
  • A project: choose Delete on the project page or in your project list. Its plan, boards, circuits, test sheets, site photos and notes, and share links go with it. Calculations saved in it move to No project, where you can delete them too. Only the team owner or an admin can delete a team project. Archive is not a delete: an archived project keeps everything.
  • Site photos and notes cannot be deleted one at a time. They go when you delete their project.
  • A draft certificate, a test sheet, a circuit on a test sheet, an evidence reference, a plan snapshot, a plan template you saved, a saved client and a preset each have their own Delete or Remove button. So does your saved signature.
  • An issued certificate cannot be deleted while you keep the account. You can void it instead. It stays when you delete its project.
  • A share link: revoke it. You can revoke a link at any time. A signed-in device: end its session on your account page.
  • In the AmpSize app, open Saves and choose Delete. The next sync deletes the save from your account too.

Without an account

Each calculation runs in your browser. The values you enter are in the page URL, so you can share or bookmark a result. We do not store them unless you save them to an account.

Page counts

We count page views to learn which pages people use. Each count records the page and the site that sent you here. It records your device type, your browser and system family, and a band for your window width. It records that a visitor is signed in, but not who the visitor is.

Microsoft Azure reads your country, region and city from your IP address, then discards the address. The count sets no cookie and stores nothing in your browser. It has no visitor ID and no session ID, and we do not link one page view to another. We do not count the values you enter. A page with a private address, such as a shared plan, is counted by its type only. We keep each count for 400 days.

To stop abuse, the server limits the page views it counts from one IP address. For this limit it holds a scrambled form of the address in memory for up to one day. It does not write that form to disk.

Feedback and reports

When you answer “Was this useful?”, we store the page, your Yes or No, the note you write and the time. When you report a wrong value, we store the page address with its inputs, the value shown, the engine version, the tables the tool reads and your note. Neither stores your name, your email, your IP address or a cookie, so we cannot reply to it. To stop abuse, the server counts the messages from one IP address. For this count it keeps a scrambled form of the address for up to two days. If you want a reply, use the contact page.

With an account

When you sign in we store your email address and, from Google, your name and profile image. We store the calculations you save, your projects, your branding details for PDF reports and any support tickets you open. We use this data only to run the service. We do not sell it or share it for marketing.

A share link for one calculation shows its inputs and result to anyone with the link. It never shows your email. It shows the project name only when you choose. You can revoke a link at any time.

When someone opens a share link, we add 1 to the count for that link on that day. We store only the link, the date and the count. We do not store an IP address, a browser type or a cookie with the count. So the count does not show who opened the link. We do not count link previews or known bots. To stop abuse, the server limits the views of a share link from one IP address. For this limit it keeps the address, or a scrambled form of it, for up to two days. We keep the counts until you delete the linked calculation, plan or project, or your account.

A person who opens a share link can tell the owner that they saw it. We store the name that they type, which can be empty, and the time. We do not ask for an email. The owner of the link sees the name and the time. To stop abuse, the server counts these replies from one IP address. For this count it keeps a scrambled form of the address for up to two days. We keep each reply until the owner deletes the linked calculation, plan or project, or their account.

When you send a report, we send the PDF to the address you enter, and a copy to you if you ask. The project log keeps that address. We do not add it to any list.

If you subscribe to Pro, Lemon Squeezy takes the payment and holds your card details. We store only your subscription status, its renewal date and a link to your Lemon Squeezy billing page. You can sign out of all devices from your account page. To delete your account or some of your data, follow the steps above.

Mails about your own plan go to your address: one when a trial starts, and up to three when a payment fails. If you cancel Pro, you can pick a reason from a list on your account page. We store the reason and its date, not your words. After a cancelled Pro plan ends, we send one mail about what changed in AmpSize. Its link, or the Mail section of your account page, stops it. We store the date you stop it.

Cookies and local storage

We store your light or dark theme choice in localStorage. For one year, the ampsize_profile cookie keeps your trade, and localStorage keys ampsize_profile and ampsize_profile_skip keep your choice. The localStorage key ampsize.last.v1 keeps the last inputs on each calculator, so a calculator can offer them back. They stay in your browser. When you sign in, we set one session cookie so you stay signed in for 30 days. There are no advertising or analytics cookies.

The localStorage key ampsize.plan.unsaved.v1 keeps the plan changes that did not save yet, so a reload does not lose them. It stays in your browser. It goes when the save lands or when you discard the changes.

Services we use

Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a form is sent by a person, not a bot. Google handles Google sign-in. SMTP2GO sends our email. Lemon Squeezy handles payment. Microsoft Azure hosts the site, the database and the page counts in Australia.

Hosting logs

Our host keeps standard server request logs for security and reliability. These logs include IP addresses. We do not use them to build a profile of you.
