How often is a caravan park or a boat marina assessed?
Electricity (Safety) Regulations 2010 reg 75(1)(a) gives 5 years as the longest interval for a low voltage caravan park installation. It names AS/NZS 3001. Reg 75(1)(b) gives the same 5 years for a low voltage boat marina installation, and names AS/NZS 3004.1. AmpSize reports the figures and rules on nothing.
Why does the tool report no interval for some sites?
Reg 75(1)(c), (e) and (f) state no interval. Each names a standard: AS/NZS 3012, AS/NZS 60079.17 for hazardous area sites other than domestic, NZS 6115 or AS/NZS 3003. Any interval comes from that standard, and AmpSize holds no figure from it. A blank here does not put the installation outside reg 75: see reg 75(5) and reg 75(8).
What about portable equipment intervals?
Those come from AS/NZS 3760 Table 4, by environment and equipment class. Use the AmpSize test and tag tool for them. This tool covers the installations reg 75 lists, and the check intervals in NZS 4512:2010 Part 6.
Is this a ruling on a site?
No. The tool names the regulation or the clause and reports the interval stated there. It assesses no site and it is not legal advice. Reg 75(2), reg 75(3) and reg 75(4) address who carries out an assessment and the record of assessment, and AmpSize holds none of that detail.
How long is the record of assessment kept?
Reg 75(4)(d) states 3 years, and names sending a copy to WorkSafe as the alternative. Reg 75(4)(b) addresses what the record states. Read reg 75(4) for the detail. AmpSize reports the 3 year figure only.
