Clauses (3)
Ambient correction
The DC cable size tool corrects the d.c. ratings to the ambient you enter. The ratings are for 40 °C air or 25 °C soil. For a NZ result, the tool uses 30 °C air by default and marks the result derived.
Tools that read it:
d.c. voltage drop limit
The DC cable size tool sets its voltage drop limit from the supply type in this clause. It uses 10 % for ELV and 5 % for LV on a network. It uses 7 % from a dedicated substation and 11 % for a stand-alone system.
Tools that read it:
d.c. voltage drop
The DC cable size tool works the drop to this clause. It multiplies the d.c. mV/A.m by the current and the route length, one way. The mV/A.m covers both conductors.
