AS/NZS 3760:2022
The standard for testing and inspecting electrical equipment in service, read in its printing with Amendment 1. AmpSize uses it for the retest interval of each environment, and for the pass limit of each in-service test. Against the 2010 edition the limits and intervals hold. The external timing limit for a permanently wired 30 mA RCD rose from 150 ms to 300 ms. The conductor colours tool reads its flexible cord colours, current and superseded.

Clauses (5)
Tests on equipment in service
The test and tag tool reports the limit for each in-service test and compares the value you measured with it. The limits change with the equipment class and with the RCD type.
Tools that read it:
Earth continuity limit in service
The test and tag tool reads the earth continuity pass limit for an item in service from this clause.
Tools that read it:
RCD operating test
This clause gives the tripping time where an external timing circuit measures a permanently wired RCD. In 2022 it equals Table 2.3, where the 2010 edition gave 150 ms at 30 mA. The test and tag tool prints both limits.
Tools that read it:
Tag content
The test and tag tool points to this clause for tag content. It does not print a tag.
Tools that read it:
Keeping test records
The test and tag tool reports how long to keep the test records, from this clause.

In-service test limits for electrical equipment
The test and tag tool reads the pass limit for each in-service test from Tables 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3 and Clause 2.4.3.1: the earth circuit resistance, the leakage current and the insulation resistance for each equipment class, and the tripping time for each RCD type.
Verified: read against the printed standard, pages 15-17 (PDF 19-21). Checked 1 Oct 2026.
Tools that read it:
Indicative testing and inspection intervals for electrical equipment
The test and tag tool reads the retest interval for each of the eight environments of Table 2.4, for the equipment itself and for the push-button and operating time tests of a portable or fixed RCD. A row says which of its cells the table prints as not applicable.

Tools that read it:
Conductor colours of flexible cords, international and superseded
The conductor colours tool reads the cord colours: brown, light blue and green/yellow now, red, black and green in the superseded scheme, and the cores of each modern cord.
