Every calculator, such as Cable size, shows its answer in one region labelled "Result".
The panel leads with the primary value: a number, a unit and a label. A green value passed a check; a red value failed one. A value with no check attached is shown in plain ink, neither pass nor fail.
Below the primary value, secondary rows give the other numbers the calculation produced. A derating factor or a volt drop percentage are typical examples.
"Calculation steps" is the working. It lists each step the engine took, in order, with its own value and unit. A step that reads a clause or a table prints that reference underneath it. The steps stay open from 1024 px wide, and start closed below that.
"Candidate sizes" is the table the calculator chose from. It shows on screen from 1024 px; below that width, a button opens it. Every size it did not pick still shows, so the reason the chosen size won stays visible.
Warnings sit under the result. An amber triangle is a caution, a red cross is a fail, and a plain dot is information only.
A "Data under review" badge appears near the title on a derived table. Every result ends with one line: this is a design aid, verify it against the current standard.
