Keyboard shortcuts

The single keys that move around AmpSize, save a calculation, open its PDF and find your own projects and saved calculations from the search box.

AmpSize has a small set of single-key shortcuts. A key does nothing while a field, a text box or a list has focus. Ctrl and ⌘ are not used, except to open search.

These keys move around the site:

  • Press / to open search. Ctrl K and ⌘K open it too.
  • Press g then t to go to the tools.
  • Press g then g to go to the guides.
  • Press g then h to go to the home page.
  • Press g then s to go to your saved calculations.
  • Press g then p to go to your projects.
  • Press ? to show the list of shortcuts. Press Esc to close it.

Press the second key of a pair within one and a half seconds.

These keys work on a calculator page:

  • Press s to open Save under the result.
  • Press p to open the PDF of the inputs on the page.

Save asks you to sign in when you are signed out. The PDF needs no account.

When you are signed in, search also lists your own work. Type two or more letters. Two more groups show under the results: My projects and My saved. They find a project by its name or its client. They find a saved calculation by its label, its tag or its calculator.

Only you see these groups. The public search is the same for everyone.

The builders, the floor plan and the admin pages use keys of their own. The shortcuts above do not work there, so a key never does two things.
